RUMOUR – Mass Effect 3D/Battlefield 3D?

According to Electronic Arts’ latest financial results, Mass Effect 3 and Battlefield 3 will both be getting the ‘handheld/mobile’ treatment. The release schedule, released earlier today, shows four unannounced sports games as well as inevitable ones such as the yearly instalments of FIFA and Madden. It also confirmed that Mass Effect 3 has been delayed until Q4 of EA’s fiscal year, ie. 2012.

However, most interestingly, the listings for Mass Effect 3 and Battlefield 3 state that both games will be coming to ‘Handheld/Mobile’ platforms as well as PC and consoles. Whether these will simply be spin-offs for iOS in the same vein as Mass Effect Galaxy remains to be seen, as no further information was revealed. Fully handheld ventures would be a first for either series, and either game coming to the 3DS would mark the first occurrence of either franchise on a Nintendo console, but it’s by no means out of the question.

What would be more fun to shoot in 3D? Geth or terrorists?
