Animal Crossing: City Folk gets name change in Australia

We managed to write an article title concerning Australia without using the words ‘down under’.
Impressed?

Catchy? No.

Catchy? No.

Nintendo’s life-sim franchise is getting its Wii iteration this Christmas in the form of Animal Crossing: City Folk.
Well…that’s what most of us will be calling it.

However, the OFLC (Office of Film and Literature Classification) have revealed that a name change has been made to the Australian version of the game. Aussies should now be looking for Animal Crossing: Let’s Go To The City.

As a side note, we don’t really like the name. We feel it’s a bit too long-winded; we’d have preferred Animal Crossing: ‘Hoods or even Animal Crossing: Turf Wars. It also left us thinking “Why announce a new Australian name before announcing the Australian release date?”

Let’s just hope they don’t take out the Online support.

Animal Crossing: Hoesvi…, uh, Animal Crossing: City Folk/Let’s Go To The City will be released this Winter in Northern America and Europe.
