The latest accessory from Nintendo is not a shell for the Wii Remote, it’s not another controller, and it’s
certainly not a hard drive.
No; the latest accessory to come from Nintendo of Japan…is a wireless router.
Many people have had trouble connecting their Wii and DS consoles to their Wireless Routers, thanks to unsupported network protection, IP trouble and the infamous error codes.
If you fall into any of these categories, Nintendo have just announced their own (very basic) proprietary wireless router. It’s apparently guaranteed to work with the Wii and the DS to provide seamless wireless connection to your Nintendo consoles.
There’s no official word yet, but we’re assuming that this device will also work with any other Wireless device.
The router’s been designed with the Wii and DS image in mind.
This latest announcement has confused us somewhat, and left us rather annoyed.
Nintendo say they can’t discuss concrete solutions for a Hard Drive, an essential accessory, yet, out of nowhere, they pull this rather pointless router.
Nintendo, sort your priorities out.
The wireless router is set to launch in Japan this year, with no concrete dates announced for Europe or North America, and it will probably remain that way.
